Victoria Hall in Geneva, Switzerland, opened in 1894 and quickly became a central venue for musical performances in the city. Designed by architect Louis Brocherel, it’s renowned for its exceptional acoustics – achieved through its horseshoe-shaped design and careful attention to materials. The hall has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed musicians throughout its history, including Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir Horowitz, and Herbert von Karajan.
The hall underwent significant renovations in 2005-2007 to modernize facilities while preserving its original architectural character and acoustic qualities. It serves as the home of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and hosts a wide range of classical music concerts, as well as other events. The building itself is considered an important example of Belle Époque architecture within Geneva.
