The SFJAZZ Center, which opened in 2013, is a leading jazz performance venue and education center. It is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco and was designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates. The Center houses the Robert N. Miner Auditorium, a 350-seat performance space renowned for its acoustics, as well as rehearsal spaces, classrooms, and offices for the SFJAZZ organization. SFJAZZ itself was founded in 1972 as a grassroots community organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and advancing jazz music. The Center serves as its permanent home and facilitates a wide range of performances, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives throughout the year.
