Experience Langston Hughes II live on September 26th

Langston Hughes II is a contemporary American musician known for blending elements of neo-soul, jazz, and hip-hop, often incorporating spoken word poetry into his performances. His work frequently explores themes of Black identity, social justice, and personal narrative, drawing comparisons to artists like Gil Scott-Heron and Common. He utilizes live instrumentation alongside electronic production techniques, creating a sound that is both modern and rooted in tradition.

The Parks Historic Walter Reed is a former U.S. Army medical center located in Washington, D.C. Originally established as Walter Reed General Hospital in 1909, it served as the nation’s premier military medical facility for over a century, treating countless service members and civilians through numerous conflicts and public health crises. The campus features a diverse collection of architectural styles reflecting its evolution over time, including Beaux-Arts buildings and mid-century modern structures. Following its closure in 2011 after the opening of the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, the site underwent redevelopment as a mixed-use community encompassing residential spaces, retail areas, cultural institutions, and open parkland.
