Symphonie Center, originally built in 1904 as the Auditorium Theatre, underwent extensive renovation and reopened in December 2006 following a $198 million restoration project. The building itself is notable for its Beaux-Arts architecture and historically significant status; it was designed by Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan, pioneers of skyscraper design.
