Julien Tassin, a Belgian composer and pianist, will perform at De Bijloke in Ghent on December 2nd, 2026. De Bijloke is a historic complex in Ghent originally founded in 1380 as a hospital dedicated to Saint Alexius. For centuries it functioned as a major medical institution within the city. In the late 20th century, after the construction of a new hospital complex, De Bijloke underwent extensive renovations and was repurposed as a cultural centre.

Today it houses concert halls, exhibition spaces, and rehearsal studios. The main concert hall, where Tassin will perform, is renowned for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere; it’s specifically designed for chamber music and solo performances. The building retains significant architectural features from its medieval origins alongside modern additions reflecting its new function as a vibrant arts venue.
