Campiche is a Swiss composer and percussionist known for her contemporary classical music, often incorporating extended techniques on percussion instruments and exploring the sonic possibilities of everyday objects. Her compositions frequently blend acoustic and electronic elements, creating immersive and textural soundscapes. She often works with improvisation and site-specific installations alongside traditional concert formats.

Amare opened in 2021 and functions as a combined cultural complex housing the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra), the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), and Opera Zuid. The building itself is located in the Spuikwartier district of The Hague, an area undergoing significant urban redevelopment focused on culture and hospitality. Designed by Mecanoo architects, Amare’s architecture aims to be accessible and inviting to the public, with multiple open spaces intended to foster interaction between performers and audiences. The complex replaced the former Stadsschouwburg (city theatre) which operated on the same site for over a century, though incorporates elements referencing its predecessor’s history.
