Joe Hisaishi’s musical compositions are widely recognized for their emotive melodies and orchestral arrangements, frequently incorporating elements of minimalist piano, lush strings, and Celtic influences. He is best known for his long-standing collaborative work with Studio Ghibli, composing scores for nearly all of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated films including *Spirited Away*, *Princess Mononoke*, and *My Neighbor Totoro*. Beyond Ghibli, Hisaishi has composed for live-action films, television, and as a solo concert artist.

The concert on October 17, 2026 will be held at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC). DPAC opened in October 1994 and is the largest performing arts complex in the Rocky Mountain region. It comprises ten venues including the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex, Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Buell Theatre, and the Seawell Grand Ballroom. The complex was designed by architect Curtis W. Fentress and features a distinctive glass peak inspired by the sails of boats or mountain peaks.
