Joe Hisaishi’s musical compositions are widely recognized for their emotive melodies and orchestral arrangements, frequently blending elements of classical, minimalist, and pop music. He is best known for his long-standing collaborative work with Studio Ghibli, composing scores for nearly all of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated films, including *Spirited Away*, *Princess Mononoke*, and *My Neighbor Totoro*. Beyond Ghibli, Hisaishi has created music for numerous other films, video games, and concert performances.

The concert on October 16, 2026 will be held at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) in Denver, Colorado. DPAC opened in October 1994 and is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. It comprises ten performance spaces, including the Speer Financial Tower, Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex (containing the Stage Theatre & Jones Theatre), and the Seawell Grand Ballroom. The complex aims to provide a venue for a diverse range of performing arts events – opera, ballet, theatre, Broadway shows, concerts and more – contributing significantly to Denver’s cultural landscape.
