Jazz Mafia is a San Francisco-based musical collective known for blending elements of jazz with funk, hip-hop, soul, and electronic music. Formed in the late 1990s, the group distinguishes itself through its large ensemble instrumentation – often incorporating horns, strings, and vocalists alongside traditional jazz instrumentation – and improvisational approach to performance. Their sound is characterized by energetic arrangements and a commitment to live instrumentation rather than relying heavily on samples or pre-programmed beats. They frequently collaborate with artists across diverse genres.

The Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley is an iconic outdoor amphitheater situated in the hills overlooking the University of California, Berkeley campus. Originally constructed in 1903, it’s modeled after ancient Greek theaters and has undergone several renovations over the years. The venue is renowned for its excellent acoustics and picturesque setting. It's a historic landmark capable of hosting approximately 8,500 attendees and has hosted a wide range of performers throughout its history including musical acts, speakers, and theatrical productions. The theatre is owned and operated by Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC). Its natural bowl shape contributes significantly to the sound quality experienced by audiences.
