Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), under the artistic leadership of Wynton Marsalis, will perform at Usher Hall in Edinburgh on August 8, 2026. The JLCO is globally recognized for its dedication to the preservation and promotion of jazz music, particularly focusing on the traditions established by masters like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Thelonious Monk. Their repertoire encompasses a wide range of jazz styles, from early big band arrangements to contemporary compositions, often incorporating improvisation and virtuosic solo performances.

Usher Hall, opened in 1897, is Edinburgh’s premier concert venue and a significant landmark within the city. Designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, it is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and ornate Victorian architecture. Originally conceived as a home for the Edinburgh Musical Society, Usher Hall has hosted a diverse array of performances over its history including classical orchestras, choral works, popular music concerts and international festivals. It underwent a major refurbishment completed in 2009 which enhanced both audience facilities and the hall's acoustic properties while retaining its historical character. The hall is regularly used as a key venue during the Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe Festival.
