The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), under the leadership of Music Director Wynton Marsalis, will perform at The Music Center at Strathmore on May 13, 2027. JLCO is comprised of 15 of the world’s leading jazz soloists, composers and arrangers, dedicated to performing and preserving America’s indigenous art form – jazz. Their repertoire encompasses a broad range of styles, from early New Orleans jazz through swing, bebop, and contemporary compositions, often featuring arrangements inspired by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and other jazz masters. The orchestra frequently commissions new works and explores the evolution of jazz music.

The Music Center at Strathmore opened in 2003 and is located in North Bethesda, Maryland. It functions as a multi-disciplinary arts center and the cultural hub for Montgomery County, Maryland. Originally the home of Strathmore Mansion—a historic estate built in 1919—the center now includes both the restored mansion and a modern 1,960-seat concert hall renowned for its acoustics. It hosts a diverse array of performances including classical music, jazz, world music, and dance.
