Idris Ackamoor & The Pyramids will perform at Locomotiv Club in Bologna, Italy on October 30, 2026. Ackamoor is a multi-instrumentalist, poet, and bandleader whose musical style blends elements of free jazz, spiritual jazz, Afro-futurism, and ancient Egyptian influences. He initially gained prominence in the 1970s with The Pyramids, a collective known for their energetic live performances and self-released albums exploring themes of Black consciousness and cosmic spirituality. Following a period of relative inactivity, Ackamoor revived The Pyramids in the 2010s, continuing to tour and record new material. His work often incorporates vocalizations, percussive instrumentation, and extended improvisations.

Locomotiv Club is a historical venue in Bologna, originally established as a railway workers’ social club in the early 20th century. It transitioned into a music venue during the 1970s becoming central to Bologna’s alternative music scene. Throughout its history it has hosted a diverse range of international artists across genres including rock, jazz, electronic and world music.
