Ida Nielsen is a Danish bassist, vocalist, and songwriter internationally recognized for her powerful and dynamic funk and soul music. Her style draws heavily from the tradition of James Brown, Bootsy Collins, and Parliament-Funkadelic, incorporating elements of rock and contemporary influences. Nielsen gained prominence as Prince’s bassist from 2010 until his passing in 2016, touring extensively with him as a member of the New Power Generation and 3RDEYEGIRL. She continues to release solo albums and perform globally with her own band.
The Gasometer Schöneberg, located in Berlin’s Schöneberg district, is a former gas holder transformed into a unique event venue. Originally built in 1874, the structure was decommissioned in the 1920s and later repurposed. The Sky Bar within the Gasometer offers a distinctive setting due to its industrial architecture; the concert space is situated *inside* the former gas holder itself, creating a specific acoustic environment. The venue has hosted a diverse range of musical acts since its renovation and opening as an event location in the early 2000s, becoming known for its atmospheric concerts and views over Berlin.
