Hot 8 Brass Band will perform at The Corn Exchange Newport on August 5th, 2026. The band is a New Orleans-based ensemble known for blending traditional New Orleans brass band music with elements of funk, jazz, hip-hop, and rock. Originating in the late 1990s in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Hot 8 Brass Band gained prominence for their energetic live performances and contributions to the revitalization of the city’s musical culture. Their instrumentation typically includes trumpets, trombones, sousaphone, snare and bass drums, often featuring vocal performances as well.

The Corn Exchange Newport is a historic building located in the centre of Newport, South Wales. Originally constructed in 1842 as a commercial exchange for agricultural trading, it served as a central hub for merchants and farmers. Throughout its history it has undergone several transformations; functioning as a public hall and even a magistrates' court before being extensively renovated in recent years. Today, it operates as a multi-purpose arts and entertainment venue hosting a variety of events including live music performances, theatre productions and community activities. The building retains many original architectural features alongside modern facilities.
