Gustavo Dudamel will conduct a concert at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Spain on July 8, 2026. Dudamel is renowned for his passionate and energetic conducting style, often characterized by a deeply emotive connection to the music and a focus on bringing accessibility to classical repertoire. His interpretations frequently highlight the rhythmic and melodic vibrancy within orchestral works, drawing influence from his Venezuelan heritage and experience with El Sistema, a national network of youth orchestras. He is currently Music & Artistic Director of the Paris Opera and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

The Auditorio Nacional de Música, inaugurated in 1992, is a major concert hall in Madrid designed by Rafael Moneo. It was built as part of the city’s preparations to become European Capital of Culture that year. The hall’s architecture is notable for its modern aesthetic incorporating brick and glass elements, intended to integrate with the surrounding urban landscape. It primarily hosts symphonic music performances but also accommodates other genres including ballet, opera, and chamber music. The main hall has a capacity of approximately 2,305 seats and is recognized for its excellent acoustics which were carefully considered during its design phase.
