GoGo Penguin will perform at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco on May 14, 2027. The British trio is known for its distinctive acoustic instrumental music, often described as a blend of jazz, electronic music, and minimalist classical influences. Their compositions frequently feature intricate, interwoven patterns built from piano, bass, and drums, creating a sound that is both rhythmically complex and emotionally resonant. While rooted in jazz improvisation, their work avoids traditional harmonic structures and emphasizes texture and atmosphere.

The SFJAZZ Center opened in 2013 and is a leading jazz performance venue and educational organization. Located in the SoMa district of San Francisco, it was designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates to provide optimal acoustics for live performances. The center houses the Robert N. Miner Auditorium, an 800-seat performance space specifically engineered for jazz, as well as smaller rehearsal spaces and classrooms dedicated to jazz education programs. SFJAZZ itself was founded in 1972 and has grown from a local presenters series to a nationally recognized institution committed to advancing the art form of jazz through performances, education, and advocacy. The organization actively commissions new works and supports emerging artists alongside established masters.
