He is known for pieces like “Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet,” originally based on a fragment of a 19th-century street preacher’s testimony, and his numerous works for ensembles of varying sizes, including chamber groups, orchestra, and chorus. The performance will take place at the Wortham Theater Center in Houston, Texas. Opened in 1987, the Wortham is a multi-venue performing arts complex designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects.
