The Hanna Theatre, located in Playhouse Square, Cleveland, opened in 1921 as a vaudeville house originally named the Metropolitan Theatre. It underwent extensive renovations and reopened as the Hanna Theatre in 1988 following a period of disuse and potential demolition. The theatre is characterized by its ornate Beaux-Arts architecture and serves as a versatile performance space hosting a variety of productions including plays, musicals, dance performances and concerts. It's part of the larger Playhouse Square Center which is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States outside of New York City. The theatre seats approximately 900 patrons and retains many of its original architectural details alongside modern upgrades.
