Experience Flat Earth Society live on October 17th
Flat Earth Society is a musical collective originating from the United Kingdom, known for blending elements of post-punk, krautrock, and experimental electronic music. Their sound frequently incorporates repetitive rhythmic structures, angular guitar work, and spoken-word passages often referencing philosophical or conspiratorial themes – though not exclusively focused on flat earth theory despite the band’s name. They have released several albums through independent labels and cultivated a dedicated following within niche music communities.
Amare, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is a modern cultural complex officially opened in September 2021. It houses three prominent institutions: the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra), Nederlands Dans Theater (Netherlands Dance Theatre), and the Nationale Opera (National Opera). The building itself replaced the former Lucent Danstheater and Stadsschouwburg (city theatre) and forms part of the Spuikwartier cultural district. Designed by Mecanoo architects, Amare features flexible performance spaces intended to accommodate a diverse range of artistic disciplines. Its construction aimed to create a dynamic hub for performing arts accessible to both professionals and the public. The venue is notable for its architectural integration with the historical cityscape of The Hague.
