Fazil Say will perform at the Kleine Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Germany on September 23, 2026. Say is a Turkish pianist and composer known for blending classical foundations with influences from jazz, traditional Turkish music, and contemporary styles. His compositions often feature rhythmic complexity, virtuosic piano writing, and a lyrical quality, sometimes incorporating programmatic elements reflecting his personal experiences and philosophical viewpoints. He frequently performs his own works alongside those of established composers.
The Kleine Beethovenhalle is a historically significant concert venue in Bonn. Originally constructed in 1870 as part of the city’s preparations for the 1873 Lower Rhine Festival, it was designed by architect Carl Wilhelm Busso von dem Knoblauch. It served as a primary performance space for the Beethoven celebrations of 1870 and continues to be an important location for chamber music and recitals. Though smaller than the larger Beethovenhalle (completed in 1905), the Kleine Beethovenhalle maintains a reputation for excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere. Following damage during World War II, it underwent restoration and remains an active cultural hub within Bonn’s musical landscape. The hall's capacity is approximately 650 people.
