Experience Grigory Sokolov live on December 2nd
Grigory Sokolov will perform at the Kleine Beethovenhalle in Bonn, Germany on December 2nd, 2026. Sokolov is widely regarded as one of the most significant pianists of his generation, known for a deeply individual and intensely focused approach to performance. His repertoire spans from early classical to contemporary composers, but he is particularly celebrated for his interpretations of Beethoven, Schubert, and Chopin. A hallmark of his style is meticulous voicing, a powerful yet nuanced touch, and a refusal to compromise his artistic vision – often resulting in spontaneous program changes and a distinctive lack of reliance on standard interpretations. He rarely records, making live performances especially sought after.
The Kleine Beethovenhalle (Small Beethoven Hall) is a historically important concert venue in Bonn. Inaugurated in 1906, it was designed by Oskar Moll as part of the larger Beethoven Hall complex built to commemorate the composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s centennial anniversary. While overshadowed by the larger Beethovenhalle which underwent extensive renovation and reopened in 2023, the Kleine Beethovenhalle retains its original Art Nouveau features and intimate atmosphere. It primarily hosts chamber music concerts and recitals; its acoustics are considered particularly well-suited for solo piano performances.
