Experience Dresdner Philharmonie live on July 5th
Dresdner Philharmonie, established in 1870, is renowned for its rich Romantic tradition and interpretations of composers such as Richard Strauss, Robert Schumann, and Max Reger. While maintaining a strong connection to German composers, the orchestra’s repertoire extends to encompass works from across classical and contemporary periods, often characterized by a warm tonal quality and precision. The orchestra frequently collaborates with internationally acclaimed soloists.
The concert on July 5th, 2026 will take place at the Kulturpalast Dresden. Originally opened in 1964, the Kulturpalast served as the central cultural venue of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), hosting a wide range of events including concerts, operas, ballet performances and political gatherings. Heavily damaged by flooding in 2002, it underwent extensive reconstruction and reopened in 2006.
Today, the Kulturpalast is a multi-functional venue housing the Semperoper Ballett, the Dresden Philharmonic, and the Dresden State Library. Its modern architectural design incorporates elements of its historical predecessor while offering state-of-the-art facilities for performing arts and cultural events.
