Django Festival Allstars presents a continuation of the legacy of guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Their music is firmly rooted in the Gypsy jazz tradition – *jazz manouche* – characterized by virtuosic acoustic guitar playing, driving rhythms, and a distinctly European melodic sensibility. The ensemble typically features multiple guitars, a bass, and often a violin, creating a dynamic and improvisational soundscape. Formed in 1997, Django Festival Allstars carries forward Reinhardt’s style while incorporating contemporary influences.

The performance is scheduled to take place at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco, California on May 9th, 2027. This venue opened in 2013 and is dedicated to the presentation and preservation of jazz music. Designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates, the SFJAZZ Center boasts two primary performance spaces: the Robert N. Miner Auditorium, seating 400, and Joe Henderson Lab, a more intimate 100-seat venue. The Center also houses rehearsal spaces, offices for SFJAZZ (the organization), and educational facilities.
