Django Festival Allstars presents a contemporary take on the gypsy jazz pioneered by Django Reinhardt. The ensemble performs primarily instrumental music characterized by its driving rhythm guitar, virtuosic violin leads, and improvisational spirit, drawing heavily from the hot jazz traditions of 1930s France. Their repertoire includes original compositions alongside interpretations of classic Reinhardt tunes and other jazz standards, often featuring a lively and energetic stage presence.

The performance is scheduled to take place at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco, California on May 8, 2027. The SFJAZZ Center, which opened in 2013, is a leading jazz performance venue and education center. Designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates, it houses the Robert N. Miner Auditorium – an 800-seat performance space renowned for its acoustics – as well as smaller rehearsal and education spaces. SFJAZZ itself is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing jazz through performances, education programs, and artist support. The Center aims to provide a permanent home for jazz in San Francisco and serves as a hub for both established and emerging artists within the genre. It’s located in the city’s Performing Arts District.
