DJ Battlecat, known for his distinctive style rooted in West Coast hip-hop and G-funk, will be performing at the Edison Theatre in Long Beach, California on July 5th, 2026. The Edison Theatre is a historic venue located in downtown Long Beach. Originally constructed in 1923 as a Vaudeville house and movie palace named the Breakers Theatre, it underwent several transformations including operation as a CBS television studio during the 1950s and 60s. Later renamed the Edison Theatre, it served as a live performance space hosting diverse acts – from musical performances to theatrical productions – before falling into disrepair. A significant restoration project completed in 2017 revitalized the theatre, preserving its architectural details while updating its technical capabilities. The venue now functions as a multi-purpose space for concerts, events and community gatherings, retaining much of its original 1920s aesthetic.
