Dick Valentine will be performing a concert aboard the Golden Hinde in London on October 11, 2026. Valentine is known for his retro-futuristic musical style, often described as “exotica pop” or “space age bachelor pad music.” His compositions blend elements of 1950s and 60s lounge, tiki culture, and science fiction soundtracks, frequently featuring theremin and vintage synthesizers. He has released several albums under his own name and as part of the band The B-52’s Love Shack.

The Golden Hinde is a full-size replica of Sir Francis Drake’s galleon of the same name, used by him during his circumnavigation of the world between 1577 and 1580. The original ship played a significant role in English maritime history, particularly in challenging Spanish dominance at sea. Constructed between 1973 and 1984, the current vessel serves as a museum ship permanently moored on the south bank of the River Thames near London Bridge. It aims to provide an immersive experience of 16th-century seafaring life and Drake's voyage.
