Destroyer, the musical project led by Dan Bejar, will perform at the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland on September 13, 2026. Destroyer’s music is often described as art-pop or baroque pop, characterized by Bejar’s distinctive vocal delivery, complex lyrical content frequently referencing literature and film, and arrangements that blend elements of new wave, jazz, and chamber pop. The project has released numerous critically acclaimed albums since its inception in 1994, evolving through various sonic iterations while maintaining a consistent artistic vision.

The Pavilion Theatre itself holds a significant place in Dún Laoghaire's cultural landscape. Originally opened in 1903 as a variety theatre, it underwent periods of decline and closure before being extensively renovated and reopened in 2017 following a substantial investment by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The restored theatre now functions as a multi-purpose arts venue hosting a diverse programme including theatre, music, dance, comedy and film. It retains many of its original Edwardian architectural features alongside modern facilities. The theatre aims to serve both local communities and attract national and international artists.
