Experience David Danzmayr live on April 29th
David Danzmayr will conduct a concert at Symphony Hall, Birmingham on April 29, 2027. Danzmayr is recognised for his versatile repertoire spanning classical and romantic works alongside contemporary compositions, often highlighting lesser-known pieces and demonstrating a particular affinity for Russian composers. His conducting style is frequently described as energetic and insightful, with a focus on clarity of texture and emotional depth. He currently holds positions as Chief Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi and Principal Guest Conductor of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio.
Symphony Hall opened in September 1991 and is widely regarded as one of the finest concert halls in the world due to its exceptional acoustics. Designed by Renton, Eggert & Associates, the hall was built specifically to address Birmingham’s lack of a suitable venue for orchestral performances; previously, performances relied on adapted theatres or larger arenas. Its shoebox shape and floating floor construction contribute significantly to its renowned sound quality. The hall regularly hosts the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), of which it is the primary performance space, as well as visiting national and international orchestras and ensembles.
