Dave Koz is a contemporary jazz saxophonist known for his smooth jazz sound, incorporating elements of R&B, pop, and Latin music. He gained prominence in the 1990s with albums like “Dave Koz” and “Upon a Summer’s Day,” and has released numerous charting recordings throughout his career, frequently collaborating with artists across various genres. His performances often feature a blend of original compositions and covers, characterized by melodic improvisation and polished production.

The Music Center at Strathmore, located in North Bethesda, Maryland, opened in 2003. It serves as the cultural hub for Montgomery County, Maryland and is home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Maryland residency. The center comprises two distinct venues: the Concert Hall, designed to resemble a European concert hall with exceptional acoustics, and the smaller, more intimate Music Room.

Strathmore is built on the site of the historic Strathmore estate, formerly the home of Albert Dater and his family. Preservation of portions of the original estate grounds and mansion were integral to the center's design.
