Blossom Music Center is a primarily outdoor amphitheater established in 1968 as the summer home of The Cleveland Orchestra. Designed by Pietro Bellushi and opened with a performance led by George Szell, it was conceived to broaden access to orchestral music beyond the confines of Severance Hall in Cleveland. The venue is notable for its natural setting within Cuyahoga Valley National Park and its large capacity—approximately 23,000 including both covered seating and a spacious lawn area. Blossom’s acoustics were specifically designed to accommodate open-air performance while maintaining high sound quality.
