Chanticleer, an ensemble renowned for its vocal performance and stylistic versatility, will perform at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, Ohio on November 28, 2026. Founded in 1978 as an a cappella ensemble emanating from the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Chanticleer has cultivated an international following and received numerous awards including a Grammy.

E.J. Thomas Hall, opened in 1973, is a prominent performing arts venue located on the campus of the University of Akron. Designed by the architectural firm Peter Cook & Partners, it’s known for its distinctive concrete shell structure and acoustics tailored for orchestral and choral performances. The hall frequently hosts national touring Broadway shows, concerts by renowned musical acts, and university events. It holds approximately 2,959 seats and has played a significant role in Akron’s cultural landscape for over five decades; undergoing renovations to maintain its functionality and aesthetic appeal throughout its history.
