Experience Branford Marsalis live on June 26th

Branford Marsalis is scheduled to perform at Dinkelspiel Auditorium on the Stanford University campus on June 26, 2026. Marsalis is a highly acclaimed saxophonist and composer whose work spans multiple genres, rooted in jazz but incorporating elements of classical, funk, and rock. He is known for his virtuosic technique, improvisational skill, and a sound often described as both lyrical and powerfully expressive. Throughout his career, he has explored both straight-ahead jazz ensembles and collaborative projects with diverse artists.

Dinkelspiel Auditorium, located within the Stanford Memorial Church complex, is a prominent performance venue on the Stanford University campus. Originally dedicated in 1903 alongside the Church, it underwent significant renovations completed in 2017 which focused on restoring its original acoustics and architectural details while modernizing its technical capabilities. The auditorium’s design features a basilica-style layout with vaulted ceilings and stained-glass windows. It frequently hosts musical performances – including orchestral concerts, chamber music, and solo recitals – as well as lectures and other university events. The auditorium’s acoustics are particularly noted for their suitability to unamplified musical performances. Its capacity is approximately 800 seats.
