Brandee Younger is a contemporary American jazz harpist, composer, and vocalist recognized for reimagining the role of the harp in jazz. Her music blends traditional jazz harmony with elements of soul, R&B, and hip-hop, often featuring original compositions alongside innovative arrangements of contemporary songs. Younger’s work frequently explores themes of Black womanhood and spirituality. She has collaborated with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Robert Glasper, and Bilal.

The UC Theatre, located in Berkeley, California, originally opened in 1917 as a venue for vaudeville and silent films. Throughout its history it operated under various names including the California Theatre and the Landmark Theatre. Following periods of decline and closure, a significant renovation was completed in 2015 restoring many of its original architectural features while updating its technical capabilities.

The venue now functions as a non-profit performing arts center hosting a diverse range of events including concerts, film screenings, and community gatherings. It is known for its intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics within a historic setting. The UC Theatre maintains a focus on presenting both established and emerging artists across multiple genres.
