Jazz Concerts in Linz
Experience Brad Mehldau live on September 14th
Brad Mehldau will perform at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria on September 14, 2026. Mehldau is a contemporary jazz pianist renowned for his introspective harmonic language and lyrical improvisation. His style blends jazz traditions with influences from classical music – particularly composers like Bach, Beethoven, and Schubert – and pop/rock artists such as Radiohead and Nick Drake. He’s known for his frequent use of simultaneous melodic lines in his improvisations, often incorporating fragments of popular songs into his playing. Mehldau frequently performs solo piano concerts as well as leading the Brad Mehldau Trio.
The Brucknerhaus, opened in 1974, is Linz’s primary concert hall and a significant cultural venue in Austria. Designed by architect Johannes Feller, it is named after composer Anton Bruckner, who was born near Linz. The hall is celebrated for its acoustics and hosts a diverse range of performances including orchestral concerts (the Bruckner Orchestra Linz regularly performs there), opera, chamber music, and contemporary music events. It features a main hall seating approximately 1,300 people and a smaller chamber music hall.
