Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform at Lighthouse, Poole on May 5th, 2027. The BSO is a professional orchestra with a long-standing reputation for broad repertoire encompassing classical standards through to contemporary compositions and film scores. Historically rooted in the English Romantic tradition, the orchestra is known for its warm string sound and adventurous programming, frequently commissioning new works and collaborating with diverse artists.

Lighthouse is a multi-arts centre located in Poole, Dorset. Opened in 1990, it houses a theatre, cinema, and visual arts gallery spaces. The building itself replaced the former Poole Arts Centre and was designed by architect Sir Norman Foster. Its distinctive architectural features include a prominent glass facade and flexible performance spaces intended to accommodate a variety of artistic disciplines. Lighthouse serves as a key cultural hub for the local community and regularly hosts touring productions alongside locally produced work. The venue’s concert hall provides an intimate setting for orchestral performances, offering good acoustics and sightlines. It has hosted numerous national and international performing arts groups since its opening.
