Boris Giltburg, a pianist renowned for his deeply insightful and technically assured performances, will be appearing in concert at Lighthouse, Poole on March 10th, 2027. Giltburg’s interpretations are frequently praised for their intellectual rigour combined with emotional depth; he is particularly noted for his explorations of composers such as Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff, often drawing comparisons to the Romantic tradition while maintaining a distinctly personal voice. He gained international recognition after winning the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2011.

Lighthouse, Poole, opened in 1990 as a multi-arts centre designed to serve the wider Dorset area. The building itself incorporates a theatre, cinema, and concert hall – the latter being the venue for Giltburg’s performance. It functions as a key regional arts hub hosting a diverse programme including touring productions, independent films, and live music events. The venue underwent significant refurbishment and expansion between 2024-2026 to enhance accessibility and improve facilities; this included upgrades to the acoustic properties of the concert hall. Lighthouse is operated by BCP Council and aims to provide cultural experiences accessible to all members of the community.
