Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform at Lighthouse, Poole on January 27, 2027. The BSO is a renowned orchestra with a history spanning over 125 years, frequently performing core classical repertoire alongside contemporary works and film scores. Their musical style is characterized by a broad range, encompassing the traditional Romantic and Baroque periods through to 20th and 21st-century compositions. The orchestra maintains a commitment to both established masterpieces and commissioning new pieces.

Lighthouse, Poole, opened in 1990 as a multi-arts centre, replacing the former Poole Arts Centre. Designed by architect Sir Norman Foster, it’s notable for its distinctive architectural features including its cantilevered roof and glass facade. The building houses a concert hall – the main venue for the BSO’s performance – alongside a theatre, cinema and gallery spaces. It serves as a significant cultural hub for the local community and wider Dorset region. Lighthouse underwent a major refurbishment completed in 2023 enhancing its facilities and accessibility. The venue hosts a diverse programme of events throughout the year including music, theatre, dance and visual arts presentations.
