Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will perform at Lighthouse, Poole on January 15, 2027. The BSO is a professional orchestra with a long history of performing a broad repertoire, encompassing standard orchestral works from the Baroque period through to contemporary compositions. It is known for its strong tradition in British and Romantic era music, alongside commissioning and performing new works. The orchestra frequently collaborates with internationally renowned soloists and conductors.

Lighthouse, Poole, opened in 1990 as a multi-arts venue. Originally conceived to replace the town’s previous theatre and concert hall facilities, it incorporates a theatre, concert hall, studio theatre, and art gallery spaces within a single building. The building's architecture is notable for its distinctive sail-like roof structure and waterfront location within Poole Harbour. Lighthouse hosts a diverse programme including drama, dance, music, comedy and visual arts; it serves as a key cultural hub for the local community and attracts regional and national touring productions. The main concert hall where the BSO will perform has a capacity of approximately 950 seats and is designed to provide good acoustics for orchestral performances.
