Experience Bill Callahan live on August 22nd
Bill Callahan will perform at Federal Theatre in Denver, Colorado on August 22, 2026. Callahan, performing under his own name since 2007 after previously releasing music as Smog, is known for his baritone vocals and introspective, often darkly humorous songwriting. His music blends elements of country, folk, and alternative rock, characterized by minimalist arrangements and lyrical focus on themes of loneliness, relationships, and everyday observations. Critics frequently note a conversational and narrative quality to his work.
Federal Theatre originally opened in 1948 as a movie palace designed in the Art Deco style by architect Richard Sharpe. It operated as a cinema until the early 1980s. Following a period of disuse, the building was renovated and reopened in 2015 as a live performance venue. The space retains many of its original architectural features including ornate detailing and a proscenium arch stage. It’s now operated by Bluebird Music, hosting a diverse range of musical acts and performances while maintaining its historic aesthetic. The theatre has a capacity of approximately 350 people offering an intimate concert experience.
