Axel Kober, a German conductor known for his interpretations of 20th and 21st-century music alongside standard repertoire, will be appearing at the Semperoper Dresden on March 14, 2027. The Semperoper, Dresden, holds significant historical and cultural importance. Originally opened in 1841, it was designed by architect Gottfried Sempers and quickly became renowned for its acoustics and architectural beauty. The original building was destroyed by fire twice – in 1869 and during the Allied bombing raids of World War II. The current building, a reconstruction completed in 1985, faithfully replicates Sempers’ original design. Throughout its history, the Semperoper has been associated with prominent composers including Richard Wagner, whose works were frequently premiered there under the direction of conductors like Wilhelm Furtwängler. It remains one of Germany's leading opera houses and a symbol of Dresden’s cultural revival.
