Experience Autechre live on October 8th
Autechre, the British electronic music duo comprised of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, will perform at the Magyar Zene Háza in Budapest, Hungary on October 8, 2026. Their music is widely considered to be at the forefront of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), characterized by complex rhythmic structures, intricate sound design, and often eschewing traditional musical forms. Since their formation in 1987, Autechre have consistently pushed boundaries within electronic music, evolving through various subgenres including techno, ambient, and glitch. Their live performances are known for being immersive and challenging, frequently employing custom-built software and hardware for improvisation.
The Magyar Zene Háza (Hungarian Music House), opened in January 2024, is a new concert hall and music experience center dedicated to showcasing Hungarian music of all genres – from folk to classical to contemporary – as well as international artists. Designed by architect Sou Fujimoto, the building’s distinctive perforated ceramic façade aims to visually represent sound waves and create a connection between music and architecture. The venue boasts three concert halls of varying sizes alongside exhibition spaces and educational facilities.
