Angélique Kidjo will perform at the George Mason University Center for the Arts in Fairfax, Virginia on April 25, 2027. Kidjo is a Beninese singer-songwriter known for her diverse musical style, which blends West African traditions – particularly those of the Fon and Yoruba peoples – with elements of Afrobeat, jazz, Latin, and pop music. Her work often incorporates multiple languages, including Fon, Yoruba, French, and English. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades including multiple Grammy Awards and recognition for her activism promoting education for girls in Africa.

The George Mason University Center for the Arts opened in 1982 and serves as a performing arts venue for the university and the surrounding Northern Virginia community. The Center comprises several performance spaces, including the Concert Hall—where Kidjo is scheduled to appear—the Theater, and smaller studio theaters. It hosts a wide range of events annually encompassing music, dance, theater, and visual arts performances.
