Angélique Kidjo will perform at Bozar in Brussels, Belgium on April 7, 2027. Kidjo is a Beninese singer-songwriter known for her diverse musical style, often described as Afro-pop, though it incorporates elements of West African traditions – including Yoruba and Fon – alongside jazz, Latin, and funk influences. Her work frequently features polyrhythms and call-and-response vocals, often sung in Fon, Yoruba, French, and English, addressing themes of freedom, resilience, and female empowerment. She has released over a dozen studio albums and received numerous awards including multiple Grammy Awards.

Bozar – the Centre for Fine Arts – is a prominent arts complex located in the heart of Brussels. Originally constructed for the 1935 World’s Fair, the building itself is a notable example of Art Deco architecture. Throughout its history, Bozar has hosted a wide range of artistic disciplines including music (classical, jazz, contemporary), visual arts exhibitions, dance performances and film screenings. It functions as a multidisciplinary cultural hub attracting both national and international artists and audiences. Bozar underwent significant renovations completed in 2002 which modernized its facilities while preserving its historical character.
