Teatro Albéniz is a historic theatre located in Madrid, Spain. Originally opened in 1917 as the Teatro Lara, it was renamed Teatro Albéniz in 1926 in honour of the composer Isaac Albéniz. The theatre underwent significant renovations in the early 2000s, restoring many of its original Art Nouveau architectural details. It’s known for its intimate atmosphere – seating approximately 750 people – and excellent acoustics. Throughout its history, Teatro Albéniz has hosted a diverse range of performances including theatre productions, dance recitals, musical concerts and zarzuela (Spanish lyric-dramatic genre). It currently functions primarily as a venue for live performance and is considered an important cultural landmark within the city.
