Teatro Albéniz, located in Madrid, Spain, opened in 1925 as a cinema, initially known as Cine Albéniz. It was designed by architects José Espeliú and Manuel Cifuentes, showcasing a notable example of Eclecticism with strong influences from the French Baroque style. Throughout its history, the venue transitioned from a cinema to primarily hosting live performances including theatre, dance, and musical concerts.

In 1997 it underwent significant renovations transforming it into a dedicated performance space while preserving its historical architectural details like ornate plasterwork and lavish decoration. The theatre is named after the Spanish playwright Miguel de Unamuno’s pseudonym, Albéniz – though not directly related to the composer Isaac Albéniz. It currently operates as a prominent cultural venue within the city of Madrid offering a diverse program of artistic events.
