Experience Adrian Younge live on September 18th
Adrian Younge is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer known for his work reviving and reimagining sounds from 1960s and 70s soul, jazz, and funk. His music frequently incorporates elements of cinematic scores, psychedelic rock, and library music, often characterized by lush arrangements, vintage instrumentation, and a distinctly atmospheric quality. He’s also recognized for his work with artists like Ghostface Killah and Bilal, as well as founding the Linear Labs record label.
The UC Theatre in Berkeley originally opened in 1917 as a silent film house. Throughout its history it operated under various names – initially as the Orpheum Theatre – and served primarily as a movie palace showcasing first-run films. By the late 20th century, it experienced periods of decline and closure.
A significant renovation completed in 2015 restored many of the theatre's original architectural details while upgrading its capabilities to function as a live performance venue. The UC Theatre is now operated by Another Planet Entertainment and hosts a diverse range of musical acts, comedy shows, and film screenings.
