St George’s Bristol is a Grade II* listed concert hall originally built in 1836 as a parish church dedicated to Saint George. Consecrated in 1838, it served as a functioning church until 1976 when it faced closure due to declining congregation numbers. Following a period of uncertainty, it was successfully converted into a dedicated music venue in 1978, largely through community effort and fundraising. The building retains many of its original architectural features, including stained glass windows and a distinctive gothic revival style. It is renowned for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, hosting a diverse range of musical genres including classical, jazz, world music and contemporary acts.
