The Get Up Kids are an American rock band formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 1995. The band consists of members Matt Pryor (vocals/guitar), Jim Suptic (guitar/vocals), Rob Pope (bass), Ryan Pope (drums), and James Dewees (keyboards). They are known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blends elements of punk rock, emo, and indie rock.

The Get Up Kids gained popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s with their albums "Four Minute Mile" (1997) and "Something to Write Home About" (1999). These albums helped define the emo genre and solidified the band's place in the music scene.

Over the years, The Get Up Kids have continued to release critically acclaimed albums such as "On a Wire" (2002) and "There Are Rules" (2011). They have toured extensively both nationally and internationally, building a dedicated fan base along the way.

In addition to their own music, members of The Get Up Kids have been involved in various side projects and collaborations. Matt Pryor has released solo material, while James Dewees is also a member of the bands Reggie and the Full Effect and My Chemical Romance.
