More like Taking Back Sunday
Experience Taking Back Sunday
Taking Back Sunday emerged from Long Island, New York in 1999, quickly becoming a cornerstone of the early 2000s emo and pop-punk scene. Founding members Adam Lazzara (vocals) and John Nolan (guitar/vocals) initially formed the band with a rotating lineup before solidifying a consistent roster. Their breakthrough came with 2002’s *Tell All Your Friends*, fueled by singles like “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut From the Team)” and “You're So Last Summer,” achieving gold certification.
Known for their dual vocal dynamic – Lazzara’s emotive screams contrasting with Nolan’s cleaner delivery – and intricate guitar work, Taking Back Sunday blends melodic sensibilities with raw emotionality. Subsequent albums like *Where You Want To Be* (2004), also gold-certified, and *Louder Now* (2006) continued their success, exploring themes of heartbreak, nostalgia, and self-discovery.
Despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus, the band has consistently released music, including critically acclaimed albums like *Happiness Is* (2011) and *Thirty Two* (2016).
