Ben Chasny, performing as Six Organs of Admittance, is an American guitarist and songwriter central to the burgeoning 21st-century American Primitive guitar scene. Beginning in 2003, his work initially emerged from the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area experimental music community. Chasny's style blends intensely personal folk songwriting with extended, improvisational guitar explorations rooted in the techniques of John Fahey and Robbie Basho, but distinctly his own.

Early albums like *Station Four* (2005) established a raw, lo-fi aesthetic. He gradually incorporated more complex arrangements and instrumentation, evidenced by albums such as *School of the Flower* (2007) and *Ascent* (2009). Chasny’s discography spans over a dozen studio albums released on labels including Dragon's Eye Recordings and Important Records.

Beyond Six Organs of Admittance, he’s collaborated extensively with artists like Elisa Ambrogio (Magik Markers) in the duo Heatwave, further showcasing his versatility.
